Cop killed, 3 JMB convicts snatched

Miscreants snatched three condemned convicts of the banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a prison van, killing a policeman in Trishal upazila in Mymensingh district on Sunday morning. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station Feroz Talukder said the attack took place near Signboard area around 10am. The prison van came under attack as it was moving towards Mymensingh town from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur district with three JMB condemned convicts – Rakib Hasan, Salauddin Salehin, and Jahidul Islam, alias Boma Mizan, police said. Four policemen suffered bullet wounds during the attack and of them constable Atiqul Islam succumbed to his injuries on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, police and locals said, according to UNB.
