A constable of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was killed in Mymensingh at sometime between Sunday night and early Tuesday and police recovered the body on Tuesday night when it was being carried to Gazipur district from Mymensingh by a car. The dead is Saiful Islam, a constable of the DMP. Informed by locals, a team of Kotwali Model Police Station recovered Saiful’s body from the car around 10.00pm at Town Hall Intersection in Mymensingh. The police also arrested two car passengers – constable Alauudin, 35, and his wife Taslima Nasreen, 30, – from the vehicle. Kotwali police and locals said Alauddin and Taslima along with a suitcase rented the car from the College Road area of Mymensingh town around 10.00pm to go to Gazipur. Car driver Arif felt odour from his vehicle while driving it and informed local people. The locals recovered the decomposed body of Saiful from inside the car after a search and informed Kotwali police. The detainees gave information to police in primary interrogation that Saiful was the first husband of Taslima and later, she was married with constable Alauddin. Police suspected that the murder occurred due to the family feud, according to UNB.
