Cop on polls duty dies of heart attack

A policeman on election duty died of cardiac arrest in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman, 37, assistant sub-inspector of Ramganj police station. Police and locals said Asaduzzaman was on duty at Gopinathpur Government Primary School polling center. He fell sick at about 8pm and was rushed to Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead. SM Emran Hossain, superintendent of police of Sirajganj, confirmed the incident and said Asaduzzaman had been working in the police force for the last 17 years, according to a news agency.
