Cop shot and injured in Rangamati

A police constable has been injured in Rangamati after being shot allegedly by his colleague. Rangamati’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Amena Begum said that the shooting took place around 9:30am at the Baghaihat police camp of Baghaichhara Upazila. Injured constable Anwar Hossain, 20, was rushed to the Dighinala Army Camp Hospital. Later he was airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Chittagong. Meanwhile, constable Mostafiz, 28, who fired on Hossain, has been kept confined at the Baghaihat police camp. Sajek Police Station OC SM Azizul Haque said Mostafiz fired a few rounds following a heated exchange with Hossain over hot water. Hossain has been shot in the stomach and thigh, he said. SP Amena Begum said that constable Mostafiz was being brought in to the Sajek Police Station, according to bdnews24.com.
