Cops arrest BNP leader Major (retd) Mizan

Wednesday, 27 June 2018

Police arrested on Monday night BNP central executive committee member Major (retd) Mizanur Rahman in the city early Tuesday on charge of his 'evil efforts' to make Gazipur election controversial, reports UNB.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told UNB that plainclothes police arrested Mizan from his Gulshan residence.
Tipped off, he said law enforcers raided Mizan's house and arrested him along with some electronic devices which he planned to use to make the Gazipur election controversial.
Meanwhile, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that law enforcers swopped on Mizan's house and took him away around 3am by breaking open the door. "We strongly condemn and protest the arrest in such a manner."
