Core donors, ICDDR,B sign document of continued partnership

A group of six core development partners along with ICDDR,B officials participated at a signing ceremony documenting their continued partnership, on ICDDR,B's Mohakhall campus Saturday, said a press release.
The Core Donors' Group (CDG), had been established in 2007 to coordinate donor funding for ICDDR,B consistent with the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness, includes six core donors providing unrestricted support to the Centre. The group includes Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Department for International Development, UK (DFID).
Also present at the signing ceremony on behalf of the core donors group were Rehana Khan, senior programme officer-SIDA, Hilary Syme, first secretary (Development), Canadian High Commission/CIDA, Marjan Wind, first secretary (Health)- EKN, Shelia Ryan of DFID, Jennifer Finch, senior sector manager, Australian High Commission, Shahrukh Safi, senior programme officer, AusAID. ICDDR,B officials included Board chairman Tim Evans, executive director Alejandro Cravioto and Ishtiaque A Zaman, head of External Relations and Institutional Development.
The objective of the CDG is to ensure and strengthen cooperation between the core donors and ICDDR,B in developing the capacity and supporting the resources of the Centre in advancing its vision and mission, and in achieving the goals of its strategic plan.
