Corporate tax return filing deadline extended

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has further extended the deadline for submission of corporate-tax returns by one month.
To this effect, the revenue authorities issued an order on Sunday.
With the extension, companies will now be able to file their tax returns until April 15, 2026.
Earlier, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) had extended the timeframe twice for corporate taxpayers to submit their returns, with the first deadline setting until February 15 and later one until March 15.
The order signed by Second Secretary of Tax Policy Akramul Haque said: "In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 334 of the Income Tax Act, 2023, the National Board of Revenue has extended by one month the deadline for filing tax returns for company taxpayers, as defined in the Income Tax Act, 2023, for the 2024-25 assessment year."
According to officials, the time for submission of tax returns has been extended for both individuals and corporate taxpayers following requests from a cross section of people including tax lawyers, business chambers.
Earlier, the NBR extended time for individuals to submit tax returns in three phases until March 31, 2026.
