AGM of Islamic Finance today


Islamic Finance: The sixth annual general meeting (AGM) of Islamic Finance and Investment Limited will be held today (Thursday) at 11:00 am at Officers' Club, Baily Road in the city. Other information of the AGM was announced earlier.


Spot market trading


Bengal Biscuit: The shares of Bengal Biscuit Limited will be traded in spot market from June 07 to June 14, 2007. The book-closure of the company will start from June 18, 2007.


Purchase/ sale of director's shares


Prime Bank: MA Wahhab, one of the sponsors of Prime Bank Limited, has stated his willingness to sell 10,000 shares out of his total holdings of 292,799 shares of the bank at current market price through stock exchange within next 30 working days.
Exim Bank: Zubayer Kabir, one of the directors of Export-Import (Exim) Bank Limited, has stated his willingness to sell 22,100 shares out of his total holdings of 155,418 shares of the bank while Bay Leasing and Investment Limited, one of the corporate directors of the bank, has stated its willingness to buy 22,100 shares of the bank at current market price through stock exchange within next 30 working days.
Exim Bank: Hasina Akhter, one of the sponsors of Export-Import (Exim) Bank Limited, has stated her intention to sell 28,500 shares out of her total holdings of 63,472 shares of the bank while Bay Leasing and Investment Limited, one of the corporate directors of the bank, has stated its intention to buy 28,500 shares of the bank at current market price through stock exchange within next 30 working days.


SEC issues show-cause notice


The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a show-cause notice to directors, managing directors and company secretaries of Meghna Condensed Milk Industries Limited, Meghna Pet Industries Limited and Amam Sea Food Industries Limited for non-compliance with securities- related laws in connection with the revised half-yearly financial statements for the period that ended on December 31, 2006.
BD Services: The SEC has warned directors, managing director and company secretary of Bangladesh Services Limited for non-compliance with securities related laws in connection with the audited financial statements for the year that ended on December 31, 2005.


Response to DSE query


AB Bank: In response to a DSE query, Arab Bangladesh (AB) Bank Limited has stated that there is no undisclosed price sensitive information of the bank for the recent unusual price hike of its shares.

Karnaphuli Ins: Normal trading of the shares of Karnaphuli Insurance Company Limited will resume today (Thursday) after its record date.
