Additional Inspector General of Police Mokhlesur Rahman on Monday said policemen involved with corruption, drug trading and other crimes will be treated just as ordinary criminals.
"Police members will be treated as ordinary criminals in case of their involvement in corruption, drug trading and other crimes," he said while inaugurating the newly-constructed service delivery centre of Gouranadi Police Station in Barisal as chief guest, a news agency report said.
Saying that the entire police department will not shoulder responsibility of misdeeds committed by some of its members, he further added that corrupt policemen should decide whether they want their job or bribe because none would be spared if found guilty.
Barisal District Police Super SM Akhteruzzaman presided over the inaugural function, where Barisal Range Police Deputy Inspector General Md Humayun Kabir and Additional DIG M Akram Hossain, among others, were also present.
