Cotton, Phensidyl worth Tk 38.3m seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized a large quantity of Indian cotton and Phensidyl syrup worth Tk 38.3 million at Navaran Bazar at Benapole union under Sarsa Upazila in Jessore on Friday. A BGB patrol team halted a Dhaka-bound truck (Dhaka Metro-Ta 16-5304) at Navaran Bazar and recovered the Indian cotton and 570 bottles of banned cough syrup from it. However, the truck driver and his assistant (helper) managed top escape leaving behind the vehicle. A case was filed, according to UNB.
