KARACHI: The weekend Lint prices remained unchanged after phutti's arrival at brisk pace, the KCA sources said here Monday, according to Internet.
The sources said that the spinners and the millers continued buying at brisk pace which forced the prices to remain at the week-end level.
The rates at one time went up to Rs 3,450 per maund. However, later the ginners and the growers extended a discount of Rs 100 per maund, which pushed the prices downward by Rs 100 per maund.
The sources said that the European Union was the biggest buyer from Pakistan. However, after the proclamation of emergency, the European Union refused to have deals, which pushed the prices downwards.
The spinners and the millers continued brisk buying with the fears that the shortage will force them to import cotton for other countries at exorbitant rates. The growers and the ginners were fully contending after getting their asking prices without much difficulty. According to the reports, on weekend the prices at one stage had gone to Rs 3,450 per maund. However, later they curtailed the prices by Rs 100 per maund.
