Counterfeit medicine factory unearthed in Savar, 6 arrested

SAVAR, July 20 (UNB): Joint forces unearthed a counterfeit medicine factory and seized medicine worth over Tk 10 million (one crore) at Genda Mohalla in Pourasava area Thursday.
Along with huge low quality medicines they also seized labels, machines and accessories used for making fake medicine items and sealed off the 'Sunipun Pharmaceutical and Chemical Limited'. The owner of the fake factory Shah Mohammad Manirul Huq went into hiding.
Acting on secret information the joint forces raided the factory at noon and also arrested six employees from the spot. They were identified as Khadiza, Asma, Shawkat Hossain, Dulal, Jobaidur and Sohrab Hossain.
