Country has 20 land ports

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan Wednesday said in parliament that the government has set up nine new land ports in the country since 2009, raising the total number to 20 land ports.
The minister made the disclosure replying to a starred question from Awami League MP Golam Mostafa, according to a news agency.
The nine new land ports are Bilania at Parshurhat in Feni, Gobrakura-Karaitali at Haluaghat in Mymensingh, Nakugaon at Nalitabari in Sherpur, Ramgar in Khagrachhari, Sonahat at Bhurungamari in Kurigram, Tegamukh at Barkal in Rangamati, Chilhati at Domar in Nilphamari, Daulatganj at Jibannagar in Chuadanga.
In reply to another scripted question from AL MP AFM Bahauddin Nasim of Madaripur-3, the minister said BIWTA dredged some 371 kilometers of riverbeds under the capital dredging project.
