Saturday, 29 November 2014
Claiming that the January 5 election was a farce, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said the government should step down immediately following HT Imam’s remarks. She said the country is now under one person’s grip. ‘Now the country is not only a 1-party rule, but also under exploitation ruled by just one person,’ she told a big public rally in Comilla Town Hall ground. Khaleda said ruling party ministers, MPs and leaders and activists have been engaged in widespread plundering of public money and graft. ‘Corruption has been the current regime’s basic principle.’ Referring to PM’s adviser HT Imam’s recent remarks about the Jan-5 elections, the former prime minister said the adviser has divulged how AL manipulated the election to grab power illegally. ‘The government should step down immediately following his remarks.’ She asked the ruling party to hold a fresh election under a non-party and neutral administration if it thinks people are with it for their good works, according to a news agency.
