Monday, 9 March 2015

Jatiya Party (JaPa) chairman HM Ershad on Sundayalleged that the country's people are now under the rule of an uglyand perverted form of democracy in the name of Westminster form of government, reports UNB.
"There's no democratic rule left in the country. People are now under the grip of an ugly and perverted form of democracy which we don't want," he said.
Ershad, also the special envoy to the Prime Minister, was addressing a joint meeting of his party's Dhaka North and South units at its Banani office in the capital.
The JP chief reiterated his demand for introducing the provincial government system to decentralise the state power. "I believe, the provincial government system will be established today or tomorrow," he said.
Drawing a comparison between his military rule and the present one, Ershad said, "When I was in power, people used to call me autocrat.  But now the present Prime Minister enjoys much more power than I used to do."
