Countrymen urged to foil conspiracy of vested quarters: Minister

Saturday, 11 December 2010

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affaires Barrister Shafique Ahmed Friday urged the countrymen to come forward to foil the 'conspiracy of vested quarters' and help the government to effectively implement the education policy, reports UNB.
Barrister Shafique made the appeal while speaking at a certificate distribution ceremony at Manikganj Govt Boys' High School in the town Friday.
He said some quarters are misleading people about the newly-adopted National Education Policy.
"There is nothing in the education policy that hurts religion. Some vested quarters, who use religion for political gains, are trying to divert the issue," he said.
Barrister Shafique said the government passed a scientific education policy in parliament recently aiming to build students as human resources.
Chaired by Prof Mahfuza Khanam, the function was attended, among others, by Zahid Malek Swapan, MP, local Awami League leaders Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim and Adv Azazur Rahman Khan and Deputy Commissioner Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed.
