FE REPORT
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has observed that the country's very existence is now at stake following signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the neighbouring India.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this from a rally, held in front of the party's headquarters at Naya Paltan in the capital on Thursday.

Women and Children Rights Forum organised the event for immediate release of detained party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Bangladesh and India recently signed 10 MoUs, including seven new and three renewed, in the presence of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
"Today the very existence of Bangladesh is at stake. The accords and MoUs signed with India are not in favour of Bangladesh," Fakhrul said.
"I want to say it very clearly that please don't betray the people of Bangladesh. Do not sign accords or MoUs by making the people fool and misguided."
"What did you (the government) bring from India? There was nothing about water sharing. But the dangerous thing is that both India and China have proposed for cooperation in the Teesta River project."
"Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has said she will examine and select the best among the two proposals (of India and China). She has also mentioned that the water sharing problem of the Teesta with India will be solved, if Bangladesh gives the Teesta project's work order to India."
