Couple held with pistol in Kushita

Police arrested a couple in possession of one 9MM pistol, two magazines and six rounds of bullet from Philipnagar Abed Ghat area in Daulatpur upazila of Kushita district on Sunday. The arrestees were identified as Iqbal Molla, 55, a resident of Bhabanandadiar village of the upazila and his wife Nur Jahan, 35. Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station said, tipped off that a gang of arms traders were staying in the area for selling firearms, a team of police conducted a drive there at about 11:00 am and arrested Iqbal and his wife Nur Jahan, members of the gang, while others managed to flee. They also recovered one 9MM pistol, two magazines and six rounds of bullet from their possession. The arrestees had long been involved in arms trading, the OC added, according to a news agency.
