Couple shot dead

Unidentified miscreants shot a couple to death in Gazalia union under Lama Upazila in Bandarban district on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses said a group of armed people riding on motorcycles spread bullets on Tharnsi Tripura, 45, and his wife Tripurani, 30, at a paddy field in Gazalia, a remote hill area, leaving them dead on the spot. Locals discovered the body on the field and informed cops at Lama Police Station who visited the spot. The couple hailed from Akiram Tripurapara in the Upazila. The cause of the double murder could not be known immediately, according to a news agency.
