Court accepts charges against Mufti Jasimuddin, 7 others

A court in Dhaka on Tuesday accepted charges against Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Mufti Jasimuddin Rahmani and seven students of North South University (NSU) in blogger Rajib murder case. Metropolitan Magistrate Sabrina Ali took the charges into cognisance after scrutinising documents of the case filed by Pallabi police about one year ago. The court also issued an arrest warrant against fugitive accused Redwanul Azad Rana of Dagonbhuiyan upazila of Feni and also ordered to attach his property. The court directed the officers-in-charge of Dagonbhuiyan police station in Feni and Pallabi police station in Dhaka to submit a report by March 20 on execution of the arrest warrant. Police submitted charge sheet against Mufti Jasimuddin and seven NSU students including Rana in Rajib murder case on Jan 28, according to a news agency.
