Court acquits all 7 double murder accused

KHULNA, Apr 27 (UNB): A tribunal here acquitted Sunday all the seven accused in a double murder case.
Those who were acquitted are Abdal Haque, Fazlul Haque, Shamim alias Sabber, Abu Bakar alias Barkat, Lal Chand alias Bil Chand, Abu Taher and Sultan Paramanik.
According to the prosecution, Azizul Haque and Israil were injured in an attack by their rival group at Amtali Bazar under Gangni Upazila of Meherpur district on August 24, 2011. They succumbed to their injuries later.
A case had been filed in this connection. Meherpur Detective Branch of police inspector Mizanur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge-sheet against the seven accused on December 12, 2011.
After examining the records and 22 witnesses, Judge of the Speedy Trial Tribunal of Khulna Aktar Hossain handed down the verdict.
