Court fixes July 2 for framing charges against Babar

A Dhaka court Wednesday set July 2 for framing charges against former state minister for home affairs Lutfozzaman Babar accused of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The trial of the case will also start on July 2.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Tribunal Judge Azizul Haque set the date and transferred the case to Judge Syed Zahed Mansoor of the Ninth Special Tribunal for trial.
Babar's lawyer Sanaullah Miah told bdnew24.com that he would appeal to court on July 2 for acquittal of the accused.
Sub-inspector (SI) Kabir Hossain of Gulshan police station pressed charges against the former state minister on June 24 under the Arms Act in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM) court.
