Court issues arrest warrant against Farroque

SHARAITPUR, Mar 15 (UNB): A court Monday issued arrest warrant against Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque of BNP after a defamation case was filed against him for making "derogatory comments" about Prime Minister's son, Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed (Joy).
District Chhatra League President Alamgir Hossain Hawlader filed the Tk 1.0 billion defamation suit with chief judicial magistrate Utpal Chandra Bhatta-charya's court.
The court took the case into cognizance and issued the arrest warrant after hearing, which signals of a late development on the country's baroque political front.
