Court orders cricketer Rubel to undergo DNA test

Wednesday, 31 December 2014

A Dhaka court has ordered national team cricketer Rubel Hossain to undergo a DNA test.
The court ordered the test following actress Naznin Akter Happy's claims that Rubel had been sleeping with her.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the order taking cognisance of an appeal filed by Mirpur Police Sub-Inspector (investigation) Md Masud Parvez following a case filed by actress.
The court's General Recording Officer Md Mashiur Rahman said the court granted the appeal. The court has ordered the investigation officer to file a report on Jan 11.
Happy filed a case against Rubel alleging that the pacer had promised to marry her and the two shared intimate relationship for nine months after having got in touch on Facebook. She underwent medical test the next day at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. The test result suggested that Rubel did not force Happy to sleep with him, according to a news agency.
