Court orders to grill DU ex-BCL leader at jail gate

A Dhaka court has ordered the police to interrogate former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Bijoy Ekattor Hall of Dhaka University at jail gate in an attempt to murder case, reports BSS.

Meanwhile, his lawyer prayed for granting bail and opposed the remand prayer. After hearing both the sides, Metropolitan Magistrate Ishrat Jenifar Jerin rejected the bail petition and remand prayer and ordered the police to interrogate him at the jail gate.
Police arrested Sajib from the Jafrabad area in the capital's Hajaribagh thana on Friday night.
Police said Sajib is one of the accused in a case filed with Shahbagh thana for his alleged involvement in an attack on the supporters of anti-discrimination students' movement on Dhaka University campus on July 15.
Abu Sayad Bin Mahin Sarkar, a resident student of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall on October 21 filed the case against 391 persons including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
The complainant alleged that the leaders and activists of recently banned BCL and Awami League, Juba League, Sheschhasebok League, Sramik League and outsiders at the direction of ousted prime minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina and its general secretary Obaidul Quader attacked on the general students with local and foreign arms.
They wearing helmets injured many students by exploding cocktails and opening indiscriminate fire during the series of attacks.
