Court seizes tax files of Taposh, wife

A court has ordered to seize the tax files of former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and his wife Afrin Taposh, reports BSS.
Judge Md Sabbir Faiz of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court passed the order on Sunday, allowing two separate pleas filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
According to the petition filed against Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, it is alleged that during his tenure as a lawmaker and mayor, he abused his position and acquired assets worth Tk 731.9 million. The case also claims that his 27 bank accounts showed suspicious transactions involving Tk 5.39 billion and $517,527.
