A Dhaka court will hear on March 23 the bail pleas of three BNP leaders, including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in three cases. Metropolitan Magistrate Zahurul Haque fixed the date on Tuesday after their lawyer M Sanaullah Miah filed the bail petitions with his court. The two other BNP leaders are its standing committee member Mirza Abbas and Dhaka city unit member secretary Abdus Salam. Earlier, another Dhaka on Sunday sent the three BNP leaders to jail rejecting their bail petitions in the three cases, including that of a murder, in connection with an arson attack on a bus during the then opposition’s blockade programme before the national election, according to UNB.
