Covid-19: No deaths, infections increasing

Both Covid-19 caseloads and its test positivity rate increased on Thursday with no fatality from the virus was reported in Bangladesh.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 51 new virus cases and 0.89 per cent infection rate on the day.
The figures were 33 and 0.53 per cent respectively on Wednesday.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,127 since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020.
A total of 5,736 samples were tested while 5,697 samples were collected across the country during the last 24 hours.
A total of 291 people had recovered from the coronavirus disease during the last 24-hour reporting time, the DGDH data revealed.
The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.22 per cent on the day.
