Covid claims three more lives, infects 312 in BD

Bangladesh reported three deaths from Covid-19 and 312 new virus cases during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Wednesday.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 27,961 since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Some 21,002 samples were tested, including antigen tests, during the last 24-hour reporting time while 20,770 samples were collected during the period.
However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate was recorded at 1.49 per cent on the day, which was slightly up from the previous day's 1.45 per cent, the DGHS data revealed.
On the other hand, a total of 338 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time, said DGHS press release.
The rate of recovery was 97.73 per cent on the day, it added.
