Covid daily death drops to 38 in BD
Infection rate up to 6.41pc

The daily death toll from Covid-19 declined further to 38, while the virus test positivity rate inched up in Bangladesh on Friday.
On Thursday, the total fatalities from coronavirus were recorded at 51 across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
However, the Covid-19 infection rate slightly moved up further to 6.41 per cent on the day against the previous day's 5.98 per cent.
The DGHS reported 1,907 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, while the figure was 1,862 during the matching period of the previous day.
With the latest daily count, the total death toll from coronavirus reached 27,147 since the virus was first detected in Bangladesh in March 2020.
A total of 29,756 samples were tested during the last 24 hours, including antigen-based rapid tests, while 30,169 samples were collected across the country.
A total of 2,919 people recovered from coronavirus disease during the last 24-hour reporting time.
