Dengue infections rising

Bangladesh recorded 349 new cases along with one death from the Covid-19 pandemic across the country in the last 24 hours until Monday morning.
With the latest figures, the overall number of positive cases and the fatalities rose to 2,005,606 and 29,292 respectively, according to the state-run Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case positivity rate dropped to 5.86 per cent from Sunday's 6.38 per cent as 5,953 samples were tested in 990 labs across the country in the last 24 hours.
The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 per cent while the recovery rate rose to 96.90 per cent as 1011 more recovered from the viral disease, taking the entire tally of recover to 1943421.
Meanwhile, the number of Dengue infections continues climbing with 87 new cases recorded all over the country during the same period of time.
But no report of fatality was reported. The DGHS has, so far, reported 10 deaths from mosquito-borne viral disease.
Until Monday, 66 new patients were admitted to the hospitals located in Dhaka while 21 others outside the capital.
With the fresh patients, a total of 344 infected people are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country while 2393 people were recovered from the disease since January this year.
