Cox's Bazar 'gunfight' kills two 'drug traders'

COX'S BAZAR, Oct 01 (UNB): Two alleged drug traders were killed in a reported gunfight with police at hilly Shilkhali Sapmara in Teknaf upazila here early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Amin, son of Ula Mia, and Helaluddin Sumon, son of Noor Mohammad of Shilkhali area.
Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, said police went on a drive at Shilkhali Sapmara along with the duo who was arrested earlier to recover Yaba and arms.
As soon as police reached the area, criminals opened fire at police prompting them to fire back in self-defence that triggered a gun battle, he said.
