Cox's Bazar witnesses bustling flow of tourists after election

COX'S BAZAR, Jan 20: Cox's Bazar is now passing a time full of vim and vigor for the arrival of an increased number of tourists after the 12th parliamentary election held on January 07 this year.
With the increased flow of holidaymakers, as if the tourist town is now in a festival mood.
The world's longest sea beach saw an out of the ordinary low turnout of tourists for a period of around three months spanning from October to December last year over the busyness in the lead-up to the election.
Tourist gathering started coming back to its usual flow after the national election.
People of all ages are enjoying themselves either strolling on the sandy shore and or taking bath in the salty water of the Bay.
Besides, increased flow of tourists has also come as a boon for the beachside traders.
Tour-thirsty people in their thousands are busy bathing in the sea waves. As if they are getting rid of all their fatigue by coming to the sea.
What an exquisite ambiance- on one side are roars of the sea and on the other shouts of people.
Soleman Shah, a tourist who came from Dhaka, said, 'I've come to Cox's Bazar for the first time in my life. I am fascinated by the vast sea and feeling much joy."
Another tourist Samir Mallik said, "The sea water is quite cold due to winter. Despite that, I don't want to leave the sea water."
Nur Ahmad from Feni said, "I've come to visit Cox's Bazar with all my family members. Now I am walking on the beach, swimming in the sea. And for the remaining two days I will visit Marine Drive, Himchhari, Patuartek, Inani and Ramu's Buddhist Temple."
Tourists come to the sandy beach and ride on horseback, taking pictures.
At the same time, they also enjoy the blue waters of the deep sea.
And there is no end to the busyness of the photographers. Beachside merchants are very happy with the arrival of tourists.
Z ski businessman Jasim Uddin said that after the 12th national election, tourist pressure has increased in Cox's Bazar, adding, "Our Z ski business is doing very well."
Beach photographer Mannan Mia said that their income has also increased considerably.
He made an income of Tk2,000 until noon.
From the ocean to the blue waters, security has been beefed up everywhere. Therefore, tourists are bathing safely in the sea.
Sadek Hossain, in-charge of Cox's Bazar Sea Safe Life Guard Organisation, said that there are many tourists at three points of the beach. More than 20 life guards are engaged in their safety in the sea bathing.
Apart from these, tourists enjoy shopping at the snail-shell and Burmese product shops along the beach.
President of Cox's Bazar Hotel Owners Association Abul Kashem Sikdar said that tourist flow towards Cox's Bazar has increased since the national election.
In the past few months, tourists did not come to Cox's Bazar as expected. Businessmen will be able to recoup the previous losses due to the increase in tourist flow after January 7.
