CP mobile court recovers Tk 2.5b land from illegal occupants

CHITTAGONG, Nov 18: Chittagong Port (CP) magistracy in a mobile court campaign during last 10 months, recovered 1,257 kathas of land worth around Tk 2.50 billion (250 crore) from the clutch of unauthorised occupants, sources said.
According to the CPA sources, the port-owned land were under the unauthorised occupation of different business concerns, labour organisations and other illegal occupants for long.
It was learnt that the CP mobile court, led by the Magistrate Md Munir Chowdhury, conducted drives at Patenga, New Mooring area, Maddhya Halishahar, Gosaildanga, Saltgola and Feringhee Bazar areas in the city and managed to recover the land in collaboration with the CPA officials and law-enforcers.
Besides, one truck terminal was also removed from its unauthorised location on the CP-owned land.
