CPA gets new secy, member

CHITTAGONG, Dec 31: Md Omar Faruq has joined the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) as secretary. He took charge of CPA secretary on Tuesday afternoon from Alauddin Meah, who retired on the day.
Omar Faruq was the chief personnel officer of CPA prior to his new job. He will also remain in additional charge of that post.
Besides, Mohammed Siddique, member of the Bangladesh Tea Board, has been made CPA member (finance) on deputation. He is likely to join the organisation next week, said CPA director (admin) Zafar Alam.
The post of CPA member (finance) fell vacant, as Abdul Hannan Sheikh went on retirement last week.
Mr Alam said two separate office orders in this regard from the Ministry of Public Administration reached CPA on Sunday.
