CPA starts tree plantation

CHATTOGRAM, July 01: The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) inaugurated the tree plantation week at a ceremony on Wednesday.
CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan planted a tree on the premises of the CPA building in the port city to mark the beginning of the seven-day tree plantation programme as the chief guest.
Addressing the function, he said, "Earlier, the CPA used to plant trees on its own lands. This year, the CPA will plant trees in school, colony residential areas and other places to enhance (the city's) beautification as well as preserving the environment." CPA members Md Jafar Alam, Md Kamrul Amin, Commodore M Niamul Hasan, Commodore Mohammed Mustafijur Rahman and other officials were also present.
