CPB, BSD for talks to resolve crisis

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesher Samajtanrik Dal (BSD) urged on Friday all political parties to hold a national dialogue to break the current political stalemate, reports UNB.
The two left parties came up with the call from a joint rally held in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Addressing the rally, CPB president Mujahidul Islam Selim observed that all pro-liberation and non-communal political parties should sit in an immediate dialogue.
Pointing to the ruling Awami League, he posed a question, "If there's no problem in holding discussion with Hefajat-e-Islam, then where's the problem in sitting with Khaldea Zia?"
About the hard-line stance taken by the law enforcement agencies to curb the ongoing violence, the CPB president observed that the law enforcers should engage their efforts to arrest those who are directly involved in subversive activities instead of arresting ones accused of "solicitation."
