CPB urges people to defeat terrorists

Friday, 19 December 2008

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) president Manzurul Ahsan Khan urged the people to defeat collaborator (rajakar), communal, autocratic, terrorist, black money-holder and anti-people candidates in the December 29 parliamentary election, reports UNB.
In his televised election speech Thursday evening, he sought vote for the 37 candidates of his party (symbol sickle) and the left-leaning candidates where there is no candidate from the CPB.
"The leftists can play a balancing role to save the country and the people from political criminalisation and vandalism," said the CPB president, adding that the communist party wanted to bring about a mass revolution to save the country from disaster.
He noted that there would be no fundamental change if the people were confined to the "two-party political cycle" as the collaborators, autocrats and looters, and who compromise with the imperialist powers, would never be able to change the fate of the people. He also demanded trial of the war criminals.
