CPC biennial confce in afternoon, polls Wednesday

The 2-day biennial conference and election of Chittagong Press Club (CPC)-2014 began on Tuesday afternoon. The inaugural session of the conference is being held at Engineer Abdul Khalek auditorium of CPC. President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul was present at the inaugural session as the chief guest. CPC sources said the election will be held in CPC Conference room on Wednesday. The polling will begin at 9:30am and continue till 4pm without any intermission. A total of 219 voters will exercise their right of franchise while 42 contestants will run in the race for 15 posts of the managing committee of CPC. The election conduction committee has taken up all preparations for holding the election smoothly, according to a news agency.
