The 45th meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) was held at its dialogue room on Sunday where it reviewed the think-tank's research, dialogue and publication activities during the first seven months of the calendar year.
The CPD in a statement issued on the day said the BoT has expressed its satisfaction over CPD's performance during the January-July period and took note of its growing engagement at various important global platforms, more specifically in view of two major initiatives that CPD is hosting.
The events are Southern Voice on Post-MDG International Development Goals to register a voice of the global South in the Post-MDG discourse and LDC IV Monitor to monitor the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action (IPoA).
The CPD BoT endorsed CPD's plan for research, dialogue, publication and outreach-related activities for the period of August-December, 2015. It also considered and approved CPD's Audit Report for 2014, the half-yearly accounts and the revised budget for the year 2015.
According to the statement, the board also advised the management to further strengthen the internal financial management of CPD and it also took the decision to invite Ms Rasheda K Choudhury, former adviser to the caretaker government and Managing Director, CAMPE to join the CPD BoT.
CPD Chairman Prof Rehman Sobhan presided over the meeting where CPD Trustees former finance minister M Syeduzzaman, Apex Group Chairman Syed Manzur Elahi, Bangla Academy Chairman Dr Anisuzzaman and Coordinator of Nijera Kori Ms Khushi Kabir were, among others, also present.
