CPD undertakes research plan in different areas

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) will undertake research work in a number of areas including food security and energy, problems of migrant workers and monetary policy.
The decision was taken in the 30th meeting of the CPD Board of Trustees (BoT) held in the CPD Dialogue Room Sunday.
The board reviewed CPD's research, publication and dialogue activities at national, regional and international levels during the period of January-July, said a press release.
The board expressed satisfaction over the performance of the CPD during this period.
However, the CPD BoT approved its half-yearly accounts for the year 2008 and the revised the budget for the year 2008.
The meeting also discussed and approved CPD's Research, Dialogue and Publication plan for the rest of the year 2008.
The BoT meeting was presided over by CPD chairman Rehman Sobhan and attended by CPD Trustee and Apex Tannery Chairman Syed Manzur Elahi, former member of Planning Commission Nurul Haq, Coordinator of Nijera Kori Khushi Kabir, former Finance Minister M Syeduzzaman, Managing Director of Grameen Bank Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and Executive Director of CPD and Member Secretary of the CPD Board Mustafizur Rahman.
Anisatul Fatema Yousuf, Director, Dialogue and Communication Division, CPD, attended the meeting on invitation.
