Crack found in Dhaka building

Police have evacuated residents of a building at Bangshal in the old part of the city after a crack was noticed in it on Tuesday. According to locals, the crack was noticed early morning. Bangshal Police Station’s Inspector Abul Hasan said: ‘The crack at the four-storey building at 99/1 Siddique Bazar in the Old Dhaka developed early morning Tuesday. Police evacuated the residents and locked down the building.’ Floors of two adjacent houses also developed cracks, he said. The city development authority, RAJUK, has been informed of the matter to take further measures, Hasan said, according to bdnews24.com.
