Cricket and Bangladesh

Bangladeshis are great fans of cricket and the national cricket team. This is a sport that bridges all our differences and consolidates our bonding. The present Bangladesh cricket team is the strongest and most consistent than any other time in the past. It is like the emergence of a new team that is playing cricket for its own people and own country. Our players are performing consistently from the period of the last World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand. Bangladesh beat England in the WC and made it to the quarter finals, although luck did not favour at that stage. But the team retained its consistency and whitewashed Pakistan in the ODI and T20 matches at home. The team sprit is high and such performance was rarely seen before.  We have got some talented batsmen like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes and bowlers like Mashrafee Bin Mortoza, Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain and above all, world's top all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan, who can lead from the front.
Following the current series, Bangladesh team will face the Indian team in June and we hope our team will continue its present performance and bring more laurels for us.
