CHITTAGONG, Sept 8 (UNB): Speakers at a seminar here Saturday called for resisting criminalisation of politics and screening out black money holders and terrorists from political parties.
Politics must be freed from black money holders, corrupt elements and terrorists for achieving the objectives of the country, emphasised the participants at the seminar on reforms at a port city hotel.
Centre for Government Studies, a think tank, organised the seminar, which was presided over by Ataur Rahman of Dhaka University.
The speakers viewed that the country was passing through a critical juncture and the people suffering from sky-rocketing price of essentials.
The people need to fight not with sticks and oars but to restore the spirit of the independence war imbued with the sense of patriotism to save the nation, said the speakers.
They hailed the January 11 changeover that salvaged the nation from chaos and anarchy.
