Crowds swell at Kamalapur

Saturday, 19 September 2015

The crowd at Kamalapur Railway Station has swelled and many are complaining of not getting advance train tickets to destinations they were trying to travel to. Advance tickets for trains plying on Sep 24 -- the day before the Eid-ul-Azha -- were available on Saturday. The counters opened at 9am, but many said they have been in queue since Friday. Many were looked happy though they had not got 'Shovan Chair', second class, but they got tickets in the normal class. At least they can travel with their family. Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Sitangshu Chakrabarty appeared relaxed. "All are peacefully standing in queue buying tickets. There is no trouble anywhere."Asked why many were not finding tickets for their destinations, Chakrabarty said: "Our resources are limited, the coaches are limited, so are the seats," according to a news agency.
