CSE festival ends today

The three-day third CSE festival will end today (Saturday). Nazrul Islam Khan, secretary of Ministry of Education, will be present as chief guest on the occasion.
The festival began Thursday on World University of Bangladesh (WUB) main campus with a view to encouraging and inspiring the young generations to effectively function in the digital era.
Prof Dr M Kaikobad of CSE Department, BUET, inaugurated the festival as chief guest where Mostafa Jabbar, former President of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), was present as special guest. Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdury, VC of WUB, presided over the programme.
Prof Dr M Nurul Islam, Pro-VC and Prof Dr Musfiq M Chowdhury, Education Adviser and Member of Board of Trustee, highlighted different aspects of the festival.
Ten universities and 15 colleges have been participating in the festival with 200 students of ICT in different events and displaying their innovations of ICT in the festival, said a press release.
Dr M Kaykobad laid emphasis on a knowledge- based society and said, "It is a time befitting festival of WUB".
"We have not reached our desired goal. Our students have talents, but we cannot nurture their talents. The young generations have to turn around for this matter," he added.
Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury informed that more than five thousand students passed successfully from WUB and none of them are unemployed.
"By this way the young talents are fulfilling the demand of the country. I believe that the young talents will also fulfil the demand of the world. The students have to work hard and have to prove their ability asĀ worthy citizens of the country. To achieve this goal we are trying to encourage and inspire our young generation in WUB," said Mr Mannan.
