Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) and one of its leading member Associated Capital Securities Ltd jointly recently organised a seminar on 'Bangladesh Capital Market--Investment Tools and Techniques' for general investors and businessmen located in Khulna City.
The seminar aimed at promoting business of the branch office of Associated Capital Securities Ltd in Khulna city.
CSE President Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury attended the seminar as the chief guest while President of Khulna Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Shaharuzzaman Mortaza and President of Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporter Association (BFFEA) Kazi Belayet Hossain were special guests on the occasion.
CSE Chief Executive Officer AB Siddique delivered the welcome speech while Chairman of the Associated Capital Securities Ltd Amin Ullah was in the chair.
General Manger of IDLC Finance Ltd Arif Khan presented the keynote paper on the topic.
CSE President Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury in his speech said, "Rapid trading volume in the bourses needs door step service by members so that investors at every corner can get opportunity to do share business."
He said that the country's stock markets eyed a good prospective in the days to come. Investors need to learn the pros and cons of investment tools and techniques, he said adding, "Entry of new issues including state-owned companies' shares and overall price hike in shares indicate that our capital market is promising."
Sustaining the growth of market capitalisation depends on floatation of fresh securities especially from telecommunications, power, gas, energy and infrastructure sectors, he observed.
Arif Khan in his keynote paper said, "Investors should not depend on suggestions from others especially at the time of placing order. Rather they should invest with their own decision after analysing all the factors of the respective company."
AB Siddique said, "The market regulators are now more efficient than they were in the past. Investors are now much protected by the rules and regulations enacted by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and CSE. We are much confident that the market will never face any situation like the 1996 debacle."
Shaharuzzaman Mortuza and Kazi Belayet Hossain thanked CSE and Associated Capital Securities Ltd for organising the seminar.
CSE Director Mohammad Fakhruddin was also present at the seminar.
