Chittagong Division faced a batting collapse in their first innings scoring 206 for 5 in 65 overs at stumps against Dhaka Metro on the second day of the 5th round match of Walton 13th National Cricket League at Sylhet Stadium Tuesday, reports UNB.
Chittagong Division faced early batting jolt losing their opener Ashraful Aziz (5), but one down Nafees Iqbal's half century and two down Aftab Ahmed's useful contribution took Chittagong Division to a comfortable position.
Number four batsman Nazimudin and tail ender Sadid Hossain remained unbeaten with 43 and 5 runs as the bails were drawn for the day.
Arafat Sunny caused the major damage grabbing four wickets for 51 runs.
Earlier, resuming the second day (Tuesday) with overnight 315 for 5, Dhaka Metro were all out for 393 in 11.4 overs.
Yasin Arafat, who took two wickets on the first day, finished his spell with four wickets for 91 runs while Kazi Kamrul Islam captured three wickets for 66 runs.
Beside, Iqbal Hossain bagged two for 26 runs.
At the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Sylhet Division took an overall 93 runs lead over Rajshahi Division after starting their second innings on the second day and scored 168 for 6 in 65.4 overs at stumps.
Golam Mubid and Ezaz Ahmed were batting on 6 and 5 runs as the bails were drawn for the day.
Mukhtar Ali claimed three wickets conceding 42 runs.
Earlier, resuming the second day (Tuesday) with overnight 149 for 8, Rajshahi Division were all out for 175 in 49.1 overs in reply of Sylhet Division first innings total of 11 for 9 in 43.2 overs (dec).
At the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Khulna Division set 223 runs winning target to Rangpur Division.
Khulna Division started their second innings on the second day and were all out for 214 in 67.5 overs with opener Nazmus Sadat scoring 60 runs off 154 balls with nine fours and Taposh Ghosh making 36 runs off 91 balls with two fours.
Mahmudul Hasan grabbed five wickets conceding 75 runs while Tanver Haider scalped three wickets for 67 runs while Shuvashish Roy took two for 14 runs.
Chasing the winning target of 223, Rangpur Division started their second innings on the second day afternoon and scored 13 for no loss in two overs and they will be needed 210 more runs to win the match with ten wickets in hand.
Robiul Islam and Ahsanul Lipu were batting on 4 and 1 as the bails were drawn for the day.
Earlier, resuming the day with overnight 82 for 6, Rangpur Division, in their first innings were all out for 131 in 51.4 overs.
