Ctg all set to vote tomorrow

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 05: Chattogram is ready to exercise their volition in the 12th parliamentary election as the nation goes to the polls tomorrow (Sunday).
Despite an anti-election movement under the incumbent government, the Chattogram regional office of the Election Commission has taken all preparations for the vote.
Regional election officer M Yunus Ali said, "All preparations are done for holding the election freely and fairly in Chattogram on the scheduled date."
"All election materials were sent to assistant returning officers of the respective constituencies last Wednesday. Ballot papers and stamp pads have also been sent."
"The voting stuff will be sent to the polling stations on the morning of January 07," added Mr Ali.
A total of 82 executive magistrates and 32 judicial magistrates are working in the field to monitor the code of conduct in all constituencies of the region.
A total of 120 candidates of various political parties, including the ruling Awami League, are vying for 16 parliamentary seats in greater Chattogram district.
On the other hand, 6,307,995 voters will cast their ballots to for the candidates of their choice.
Sources said the total number of voters was 5,637,461 in the past 11th parliamentary election held on 30 December 2018.
A total of 670,494 voters have increased for the upcoming elections.
