Ctg BNP leader Dastagir Chy dies

Chittagong city BNP Senior Vice-President Dastagir Chowdhury died of a cardiac arrest in Dhaka Sunday morning, reports bdnews24.com. He was 58. Chittagong city BNP General Secretary Shahadat Hossain told the news agency that Dastagir, who was in Dhaka, was taken to Apollo Hospitals after he had fallen ill in the morning. The on-duty doctor pronounced him dead after he was taken to the hospital, he added. Dastagir Chowdhury was a freedom fighter and former deputy mayor of Chittagong City Corporation. Before joining BNP, he was involved with Jatiya Party.
